Ayurveda therapeutic massages helps to reduce Ama and are therefore a preventative measure against long-term illnesses and part of the treatment for many illnesses. Regular massage is part of the Ayurvedic treatment called Panchkarma- for conditions such as arthritis, pain in the legs, poor blood circulation, heart complaints, thyroid complaints and headaches. It is also used to invigorate the body and mind and for rejuvenation.
Ayurvedic Facial Massage
Our faces have certain marma points which when stimulated help different parts of the body. Padabhyanga

Dhara
Abhyanga Special Oil Body Massage
Dhara is a titillating form of snehana treatment whereby special oil is methodically dripped along a coarse thread onto the body. This is an ancient technique which is to be maintained at a certain rhythmic speed. Healing occurs when this technique is performed to perfection. A total state of wellness is induced in the process. Prior to dhara administration the preliminary procedure of abhayanga massage is performed. Dhara is split into two procedures:
Shirodhara: dripping oil on the forehead
Pizichzal: dripping oil on the body by continuous warm herbal oil effusion
Shirodhara is a technique for afflictions of the head and sense organs. Conditions of use include prickling pain in the head, loss of hair, loss of hearing, fatigue and mental exhaustion, insomnia, headache, dryness of scalp and face, constipation, burning sensation in head and body, excess sweating, blood disorders, jaundice, excessive sleep, heaviness of body, indigestion, weak digestion, loss of appetite and anorexia.
Pizichzal is a technique for all kinds of conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, joint pains, senile conditions, post natal care, fractures and other musculo-skeletal problems.

Indication: It eliminates toxins from the joints and improve mobility. It is used to reduce muscle spasm and for degenerative muscle diseases.
Pinda Swedana (potli massage): Massage with small linen bags filled with specially prepared heated mixture of herbs, grains and medicated oils.
